Redmond O'Neal, son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal, admits drug charges

MALIBU, Calif. - Redmond O'Neal, the son of actors Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal, has pleaded guilty to possessing heroin and methamphetamine.

The 23-year-old O'Neal pleaded guilty Thursday in a Malibu court to the two felony counts and a misdemeanour count of driving under the influence of drugs. As part of a plea deal, a second DUI charge was dismissed.

O'Neal was arrested on Jan. 26 after he was stopped for speeding in Malibu.

He was placed on three years of probation on the misdemeanour charge and fined about $1,700.

The district attorney's office said O'Neal also was ordered to remain in drug treatment until a hearing next month to determine if he can enter a drug treatment program to address the felony charges.

The Anubian Lights are a spaced-out, partially electronic grouping slackly connected to Hawkwind via one of the Lights' membership in Nik Turner's Space Ritual; other members hail from Pressurehed, Farflung, the Brain, Chrome, and Zero Gravity. The group debuted in 1995 with The Eternal Sky; it was followed in 1996 by the EP The Jackal and Nine and in 1998 by the full-length Let Not the Flame Die Out. Naz Bar marked the band's first loss of the new millenary.

With the 2005 unmarried "Listen to Your Heart," D.H.T. became the latest European dance act to retrieve its American footing via Robbins Entertainment. The New York label had antecedently helmed singles from DJ Sammy ("Heaven") and Lasgo ("Something") to success, and the Belgium-based D.H.T. (singer Edmee Daenen and DJ Da Rick; various producers) featured a likewise propulsive blend of accessible Hi-NRG/Euro-dance rhythms, plaintive female vocals, and reformist theater texture. It was D.H.T.'s sheeny Roxette remaking that genuinely caused a stir, like Sammy's plow of Bryan Adams before it. "Mind to Your Heart" first-class honours degree appeared in Europe through Hardbounze in 2003. Issued stateside by Robbins in November 2004, by the following May it was a Top 40 sense experience in assorted markets. D.H.T.'s former lick included a Euro-dance plow of the 1978 Sniff 'n' the Tears treasure "Driver's Seat," released under the soubriquet Dared.

Amy Winehouse's lyrics used in Cambridge exam

Amy Winehouse's lyrics have been used in a Cambridge University exam question.

One of the institution's final exams asked English students to compare Winehouse's words to the 'Back To Black' track 'Love Is A Losing Game' to works by another writer.

Students had to compare Sir Walter Raleigh's 'As You Came From The Holy Land' with either 'Love Is A Losing Game', Bob Dylan's 'Boots Of Spanish Leather' or Billie Holiday's 'Fine And Mellow'.

A spokesperson from Cambridge University told BBC News that the question wasn't usual, but that students were often asked to compare pieces by different writers.

'Love Is A Losing Game' won an Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically And Lyrically last week (May 22).

British directors prep lobbying body

Directors U.K. will launch next week

LONDON -- Britain's top film and television directors will formally unveil new campaigning and fee collecting body Directors U.K. on June 12 at a launch hosted by Paul Greengrass and Charles Sturridge.

The body will be chaired by Sturridge and includes such luminaries as Simon Curtis, Roger Michell and Peter Kosminsky among its board members.

It aims to lobby on behalf of directors' interests at a time when the entertainment business faces the complexity of dozens of new platforms and outlets including online, new media and on-demand.

Directors U.K. will effectively replace the old Directors and Producers Rights Society, and hopes to represent about 3,000 British directors as a lobbying force for collective negotiations as well as a collecting house for fees.

"It is about being a voice in the industry and saying we are the creative force in any production," a spokeswoman said. "There was a feeling that directors were not being represented in the way they wanted."

BB Celebrity Hijack details revealed

Details of the house that contestants will live in for the new series 'Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack' have been revealed.
This year no celebrities will enter the 'Big Brother' house but well-known personalities will instead act as Big Brother, setting tasks and making the rules for the housemates, who are a group of talented young people, including scientists and acrobats.
The new house will feature Banksy-style stencilling and graffiti on the walls, with 12 single beds for the housemates to sleep in.
The Diary Room chair is neon purple and the bedroom walls are decorated with a British cityscape.
The garden has an intimate hot tub instead of a swimming pool and the housemates will also have access to a gym.
Dermot O'Leary is due to present the new series with Davina McCall returning to present the summer series of 'Big Brother'.
A Channel 4 statement said: "The identity of the celebs taking part remains tightly under wraps, but their aim will be simple: putting their stamp on the activities in the 'Big Brother' house and generally causing mischief."
